Background

CD73 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchored cell surface protein that is encoded by NTSE gene, which plays a crucial role in switch on adenosinergic signaling. This gene can also be used as a key regulatory molecule in cancer development. PDL1 is a type I transmembrane protein which is a member of the growing B7 family of immune molecules and is involved in the regulation of cellular and humoral immune responses. PDL1 may inhibit ongoing T-cell responses by inducing apoptosis and arresting cell-cycle progression. Recently, some results further support the combination of anti-CD73 and anti-PD-L1 therapies in treating EGFR-mutated NSCLC, while suggesting that increased T cell activity may play a role in response to therapy.
