A CHO-K1 cell line has been engineered to stably overexpress human C-C motif chemokine receptor 1 (CCR1) on its surface. This cell line contains high levels of the G protein Gαi, which is essential for coupling with the receptor in downstream signaling pathways.
Drug screening and biological assays
The CCR1 gene encodes a chemokine receptor that belongs to the G protein - coupled receptor superfamily. It is expressed on the surface of various immune cells, such as monocytes, macrophages, T lymphocytes, and dendritic cells. CCR1 binds to several chemokines, including CCL3, CCL5, and CCL7. Activation of CCR1 by these chemokines regulates immune cell migration, recruitment to sites of inflammation, and activation, playing a crucial role in the immune response against pathogens and in inflammatory diseases.
