Drug screening and biological assays
PTGDR, also known as the prostaglandin D receptor or DP1, is a G-protein coupled receptor that binds prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). PGD2 is involved in regulating sleep, inflammation, and immune responses. Activation of PTGDR by PGD2 leads to increased cAMP production and various cellular responses, including vasodilation and inhibition of platelet aggregation. PTGDR is a potential target for drugs used to treat allergic rhinitis and other inflammatory diseases.
