Recombinant CHO-K1 cells have been created to stably overexpress human opioid related nociceptin receptor 1 (OPRL1) on their surface. These cells contain high levels of the G protein Gαi, which is essential for coupling with the receptor in downstream signaling pathways.
Drug screening and biological assays
OPRL1 encodes the nociceptin receptor, a G-protein coupled receptor involved in pain modulation, reward, and stress responses. It is also known as the opioid receptor-like 1 receptor.
