The CHO-K1-PAR4-Stable Cell Line is designed to stably express the PAR4 (protease-activated receptor 4).
Drug screening and biological assays
PAR4, or proteinase-activated receptor 4, is another member of the proteinase-activated receptor family. It is activated by proteolytic cleavage by thrombin and other proteases. Activation of PAR4 leads to platelet activation, aggregation, and the release of inflammatory mediators. It is involved in the pathogenesis of thrombosis and cardiovascular diseases. PAR4 antagonists are being investigated as potential antithrombotic agents.
