The CHO-K1-SST1/Gqi5-Stable Cell Line is engineered to stably express the SST1 (somatostatin receptor 1) and the Gqi5 protein.
Drug screening and biological assays
SSTR1, or the somatostatin receptor 1, is a G-protein coupled receptor that binds somatostatin, a peptide hormone with inhibitory effects on growth hormone, insulin, and glucagon secretion. SSTR1 activation leads to decreased intracellular cAMP levels and inhibition of cell proliferation. It is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract, and is involved in regulating hormone secretion, neurotransmission, and cell growth.
