Director, Business Development

This position will work closely with scientific leaders and Business Development teams to support business growth, develop business opportunities, and deliver the best services to our partners. This position will also work closely with the senior management team to provide support for business growth strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute plans and programs for existing accounts in his/her geography to grow each account
• Develop strategies and tactics to gain new businesses
• Works proactively with the teams to achieve sales revenue targets for key accounts and new accounts
• Reports on the progress of BD activities and provides regular updates to management teams
• Ensures that various data sources are available and well utilized in order to provide competitive intelligence, tracking, and analysis of the competitive landscape

Requirements

• Minimum Master's degree in Science (chemistry, biology or related); Advanced degree highly desired
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in drug discovery, preferentially in chemistry, biology, immunology or oncology in a leadership role giving rise to multiple preclinical candidates
• 3+ years of BD track record to rapidly identify, assess and prioritize business prospects
• Demonstrated ability to couple business insight, understanding of market dynamics and ability to translate business opportunity and business growth
• Ability to close deals by utilizing internal resources in an effective manner
• Demonstrated abilities in the area of listening, negotiations, teamwork, and persuasiveness
• Track record for handling difficult situations and posing solutions that led to turnaround or success
• Coordinates with other BDs or scientific counterparts to provide appropriate solutions to clients
