This cell line is a HEK293-based reporter cell line engineered to express the CREB signaling response element and the full-length human GCGR (Uniprot: P47871). It can drive luciferase expression systems through GCGR agonists or Glucagon stimulation. In the absence of agonist or Glucagon, the GCGR receptor is not activated and luminescence signal is low. In the presence of agonist or Glucagon, the GCGR pathway-activated luminescence can be detected in a dose-dependent manner.
Screen for agonists that can bind and activate GCGR.
GCGR (Glucagon Receptor) is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds glucagon and regulates glucose homeostasis by stimulating glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis.
