A stable HEK293 cell line expressing medium levels of the human glucagon receptor (GCGR). This cell line is optimized for medium expression of GCGR, providing a balanced model for studying receptor function and signaling pathways.
Useful for cell-based GCGR binding assay
The GCGR gene encodes the glucagon receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor. It is mainly expressed in the liver and pancreas. Glucagon binds to its receptor and activates a signaling cascade that leads to the breakdown of glycogen into glucose (glycogenolysis) and the production of glucose from non-carbohydrate sources (gluconeogenesis), thereby increasing blood glucose levels. Dysregulation of glucagon signaling is associated with metabolic disorders, such as diabetes mellitus.
