This cell line is a HEK293-based reporter cell line engineered to express the CREB signaling response element and the full-length human GIPR (Uniprot: P48546-1). It can drive luciferase expression systems through GIPR agonists or Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) stimulation. In the absence of agonist or GIP, the GIPR receptor is not activated and luminescence signal is low. In the presence of agonist or GIP, the GIPR pathway-activated luminescence can be detected in a dose-dependent manner.
Screen for agonists that can bind and activate GIPR.
GIPR (Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide Receptor) is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds GIP and regulates insulin secretion and glucose homeostasis.
