HEK293-Human GIPR-Medium Expression-Stable Cell Line

Catalog Number CBCL-0034
Price Online Inquiry
Unit Quantity 5 x 10^6 cells / 1.0 ml

Introduction

A stable HEK293 cell line expressing medium levels of the human glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR). This cell line is optimized for medium expression of GIPR, providing a balanced model for studying receptor function and signaling pathways.

Application

Useful for cell-based GIPR binding assay

Background

The GIPR gene encodes the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor. It is expressed in pancreatic beta cells. GIP is secreted by the small intestine in response to food intake and binds to its receptor on beta cells, stimulating insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. GIP also has other metabolic effects, such as promoting fat storage and inhibiting gastric emptying. Dysfunction of the GIP signaling pathway is associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes.
