A stable HEK293 cell line expressing high levels of the human glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R). This cell line is optimized for high expression of GLP-1R, making it suitable for detailed studies of ligand binding, receptor activation, and downstream signaling pathways.
Useful for cell-based GLP-1R binding assay
The GLP-1R gene encodes the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor. It is expressed in pancreatic beta cells, the brain, and the gastrointestinal tract. GLP-1 is secreted by the intestinal L cells in response to food intake and binds to its receptor on beta cells, stimulating insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. GLP-1 also inhibits glucagon secretion, slows gastric emptying, and promotes satiety. GLP-1 receptor agonists are used as drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity.
