A recombinant HEK293 cell line expressing the human glucagon-like peptide-2 receptor (GLP-2R) fused with a luciferase reporter gene. This cell line is used to study the activation of the GLP-2R receptor and its downstream signaling pathways through luciferase activity.
Screen for agonists that can bind and activate GLP-2R.
The GLP-2R gene encodes the glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor. It is mainly expressed in the intestinal epithelium. GLP-2 is secreted by the intestinal L cells and plays a crucial role in maintaining intestinal integrity and function. It stimulates intestinal growth, increases nutrient absorption, and enhances the barrier function of the intestinal epithelium. GLP-2 receptor agonists are being investigated for the treatment of various intestinal disorders.
