This HEK293 reporter cell line expresses the thyroid hormone response element (TRE) and the full-length human THRB receptor (Uniprot: P10828-1). Luciferase expression is driven by thyroid hormone (TH) or thyroid hormone receptor (THR) agonists. In the absence of TH or THR agonists, the THRB receptor is not activated, and luminescence is low. In the presence of TH or THR agonists, THRB pathway-activated luminescence can be detected in a dose-dependent manner.
Screen for THR-β-selective agonists.
THRB (Thyroid Hormone Receptor Beta) is another nuclear receptor for thyroid hormones, with distinct tissue distribution and functions compared to THRA, also regulating metabolism and development.
