A HEK293 cell line that expresses firefly luciferase under the control of the GAL4 upstream activation sequence (UAS) and stably expresses the human peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ ligand binding domain (PPARγ LBD, amino acids 173-475) fused to the DNA binding domain (DBD) of GAL4 (GAL4 DBD). This system allows for the specific measurement of the effects of PPARγ agonists with minimal cross-reactivity from other nuclear receptors or PPAR isoforms.
Drug screening and biological assays
PPARγ (Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Gamma) is a nuclear receptor that regulates gene expression involved in adipogenesis, lipid metabolism, and insulin sensitivity. It is a target for drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
