Background
CLEC2D, also known as CLAX, is a protein that belongs to a member of the natural killer cell receptor C-type lectin family. CLEC2D is a receptor for KLRB1 that protects target cells against natural killer cell-mediated lysis, inhibits osteoclast formation, inhibits bone resorption and modulates the release of interferon-gamma.
