The ME-180-HRE Luciferase Reporter-Stable Cell Line is designed to monitor the activity of hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs) through a firefly luciferase reporter driven by multiple copies of the hypoxia response element (HRE). This cell line has been validated in response to hypoxia-mimetics like cobalt chloride and Deferoxamine.
Drug screening and biological assays
HRE (Hypoxia - Response Element) is a cis - acting DNA element that is recognized and bound by hypoxia - inducible factors (HIFs). It is present in the promoter regions of hypoxia - responsive genes and regulates gene expression in response to low oxygen levels, playing important roles in processes such as angiogenesis, tumor growth, and adaptation to hypoxia.
