Background

ROS1 is an oncogene, like the ALK oncogene, and, in fact, is related to ALK. The overexpression of overactivity of ROS1 fusion proteins, due to chromosomal rearrangement, are associated with variety of cancers, induding glioblastomas, Lung cancer. The identification of ROS1 fusion genes as driver genes have broaden the anticancer indication of variety of the inhibitors of other targets. Ba/F3, a murine interleukin-3 dependent pro-B cell line is increasingly popular as a model system for assessing both the potency and downstream signaling of kinase oncogenes, and the ability of small-molecule kinase inhibitors to block kinase activity.
